DCBBest Shopify Discount Apps in 2026 (By Use Case)

Quick answer
There's no single best discount app. Pick by job: create discounts (promotion engines), encourage bigger orders (volume/tiered pricing, bundles), reward loyalty, and control discounts (DCB) so they don't destroy margins.
How to choose a Shopify discount app
Before comparing apps, write down what you want: more orders, bigger orders, repeat orders, or protected margins. Then check these on each listing:
- Uses Shopify Functions (fast and checkout-compatible)
- Works with your theme and other apps
- Clear pricing and a free trial
- Recent reviews and responsive support
Category 1: Discount control — DCB
Most discount apps help you give discounts away. DCB is different: it decides where discounts are not allowed. Block codes on sale items, by product tag, for selected products, or everywhere — on a schedule. Plans start at $9/month with a 3-day free trial.

Category 2: Promotion engines
Apps for tiered discounts, BOGO, gift with purchase and cart messages. Ideal for seasonal campaigns.
Category 3: Volume and wholesale pricing
Quantity breaks and B2B price lists. Useful for consumables and B2B stores.
Category 4: Bundles
Fixed and mix-and-match bundles increase units per order.
Category 5: Loyalty and referrals
Points, VIP tiers and referral rewards. Look for one that integrates with your discount rules.
Native Shopify discounts
Before you install anything, check Shopify's built-in discounts: codes, automatic discounts, buy X get Y and combinations. Many stores only need native discounts plus a control app like DCB.
Frequently asked questions
- What is the best discount app for Shopify?
- It depends on the job. For creating offers, use a promotion engine; for protecting margins and stopping stacking, use DCB – Discount Code Blocker.
- Do I need a discount app if Shopify has native discounts?
- Native discounts cover the basics, but they can't block codes on sale items, by tag or on a schedule. That's what DCB adds.
